Who this is between

/ These terms are between you — the person or company holding the account — and MB Tech256, Šv. Antano g. 22-1, Didžiasalio k., LT-13264 Vilniaus r., company number 305600824. Creating an account means accepting them.

What the service is

urlshot.io renders a public web page in a headless browser and returns an image. It is offered as an HTTP API and a dashboard for managing keys and usage.

The rendering environment has limits we publish rather than hide: no GPU, so WebGL is unavailable; a fixed set of installed fonts; and no way to inject your own JavaScript. The API reference describes each of them. A page that depends on any of them may capture differently from your own browser, and that is not a fault.

Your account

• Give us an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself.
• Your API keys authenticate as you. Keep them out of browser and mobile code, where anyone with the app can read them. Usage on your key is your responsibility.
• Tell us promptly if you think a key or your account has been compromised.

What you may not do

• Capture pages you have no right to access, or use the service to get around an access control.
• Capture material that is unlawful, or that infringes someone's rights.
• Use the service to attack a third party — sustained automated requests against a site that has not asked for them is an attack whoever sends it.
• Resell the API as a competing screenshot API.
• Work around plan limits, or share one account across separate businesses.
• Script or automate the demo on our home page, or use it in place of an account. It is there to try the service, and its limits apply to people, not to programs.

We may suspend an account that is doing any of these. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why first.

Credits and payment

• One successful render costs one credit.
• A render that reaches the browser and then fails also costs one credit, because the work was done. A request rejected before any browser starts — a bad parameter, an invalid key, a limit already reached — costs nothing.
• A cache hit costs nothing.
• Credits are granted per billing period and do not carry over. Every response tells you what it cost in X-Urlshot-Credits-Used.

Paid plans are bought from the Billing page of your dashboard and billed monthly or yearly in advance, as you choose. The current plans and prices are on the pricing page, and the checkout shows the total before you pay.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders, provides customer service for payment questions and returns, and its buyer terms apply to your purchase.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed. Any payment can be refunded on request within 14 days, as the refund policy describes.

Prices exclude VAT and sales tax. Paddle, which sells the service to you as merchant of record, adds the tax your country requires at checkout and shows the total before you pay.

Availability

We do not offer a service level agreement and we do not guarantee uptime. We run the service carefully and publish what we are doing about reliability, but if your business needs a contractual availability commitment, we are not yet the right supplier — ask us before you depend on it.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Where we are liable, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from Settings in the dashboard. It takes effect immediately, and the privacy policy describes exactly what is deleted and what is retained.

We may end the agreement if you break these terms, or with reasonable notice if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering it, we will give you time to move.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and if a change materially affects you we will email account holders rather than relying on you to check.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, and the courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections under the law of the country you live in.
